They really seem to like these groundhog forage radish. Tearing them up and eating them like bugs bunny does a carrot. just a nub and a short stem left on most of them. Turnip greens are all hammered but only a few of the turnips have been nibbled on. It's all happening after dark though on most nights and its basically all doe and young buck. 1 good buck at 11:30PM on cam the other night but only that 1 night.

I did not plant them this year. To many years of planting them is not good. It has changed the way deer use the property now.

longterm goal is clover. Putting another plot in accross the creek though, and it will be Brassica next year for sure.

The help I need is a Bouncer thug to come kick trespassers out so that the plots can work.

Took me a long time to get a handle on trespassers. Not much of a problem any more.
Did get a guy and gal on an atv last year. Got a clear pic of the plate and ran it over to Denton Hill to the PSP. They ran the plate, told me who the owner was. It was the son of a neighbor, who has a 2200 acre lease, and the Dad said it wouldn't happen again.
Thats the sort of "news" that travels when you show you will do what is needed.

Something triggered them to eat the brassica's early this year. In years past, they didn't touch them until this time of year. Right now, my plot looks like it's mowed flat. I think I'm going back to a clover mix next year. Mine was still lush and green into November last year, but right now it looks like an over browsed cow pasture.

postimage.org/image/4l9m1a8mj/Mine mostly look like this. Only this one has more leaf and stem left then the others. The Radishes are destroyed, once they found the roots it was over. They have searched out and dug up all of them. Only found 3 chewed on Turnips but the greens are hammered. Looks like a brush hawg went over the entire plot. Land owner is home for a month now so I wont be hunting over it anymore this year anyway. Not that it matters, things only come to it at night.

Thats a nice sized turnip. Now you can have a meal of turnips.
I always found that when I had a mix of brassicas that included purple top turnips, they ate the greens of the turnips last. Keyed in on the other brassicas first.

With a 5 PH and ZERO lime, I didn't expect it to grow at all. Thank you UREA. haha
