Sorry to hear sad news on Dixon's Muzzleloading Shop's FB page:
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our patriarch, Charles "Chuck" Dixon Sr. He passed away on Thursday, December 30th, 2021. He was 85 years old.

I'll miss chatting with Chuck on my visits. Used to stop a lot during the years my Daughter went to Kutztown University. Learned a lot from Chuck.

Chuck was a visionary when he started the Muzzleloader Builders Faire thirty-some years ago. Originally started to help showcase his unique business, Chuck had no idea the popularity of the faire would grow to the point that it would become somewhat of a vacation destination the last weekend of July for muzzle loading enthusiasts. He was a wealth of information for individuals just entering the sport and was willing to share that knowledge to anyone seeking help. He will be missed.

Very well said Dan. One particular visit with Chuck I especially remember. It was about 10-12 years ago when I visited Dixon's to buy my first Swiss Black Powder. Chuck told me it's the closest thing to smokeless as far as clean burning & consistency out there. It was around the time I was dabbling with a custom Henry Ball built Savage(smokeless) 10ML) which Chuck certainly wasn't a fan of per our discussions. Oh how true he was on the Swiss.... same as many other valuable tips Chuck so willingly shared. I shortly sold my Savage 10ML after.
