I know a year or so back Fire Art, LLC in Clearfield carried Swiss BP shooting powder(FG granulation). They currently do not carry per info(below) I just received. I know that Dixons here on in eastern side of state carries.
Anyone know of any other sources,,,,,,please share??
Email recently received from Fire Art, LLC(Clearfield, PA 16830) :
While we do carry the Swiss powder, we currently do not handle the granulations that you are looking for. Our powder is more for fireworks construction and cannons. Our current granulations are 1FA, 2FA, 3FA, 4FA and 7FA.
We are hoping in the future to carry sporting grades as well but that is a ways off.

What's the difference between the 2FA and a FFG powder?

I wasn't sure either Dave. Here's what I found: The primary difference between the 'A' and 'g' grades is in the manufacturing process. Both are manufactured in the same way initially, but at the end, the 'g' grade powders are polished in a tumbler with a tiny amount of graphite, to polish the grains and make them flow easily. The 'A' grade powders are not usually tumbled, and if they are tumbled, it is just for a short amount of time to remove any sharp edges. For purchasing the A-grade powder, the user will need to have a BATFE (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) license and a BATFE-legal magazine to store the powder.

I remember reading an article while back about the glazing(polishing) process in "g" used by Swiss & is supposedly superior to Goez which gives it better resilience from attracting moisture in damp/wet conditions. You know....that wonderful muddy/pasty pan effect that doesn't go "bang"!! lol

No guts, no glory. Just think of the beautiful fireworks that will illuminate from the end of your muzzle.

Moosey....if you never burned Swiss you will be pleasantly surprised. Chuck Dixon once told me it's the cleanest burning black powder almost comparable to smokeless you will find. Thinking Goex going South is a blessing in disguise.

Thinking Goex going South is a blessing in disguise. A few years ago I was at a Muzzleloader shop in Butler.I was asking the guy about Swiss powder and he said that SWISS,Goex and Elephant all has very defined sales territories. Not sure how true that was but it explained why certain areas didn't have it.He claimed it would cost him a fortune to get it.Maybe that will change with Goex going under.

An even bigger problem is finding #11 percussion caps Those are different than shotgun primers? Yes. Percussion caps are smaller and just a simple brass cup with priming in it
