Huh.....I never heard of a fallfish.

Not many target the fallfish Dave. They're a tremendous fighter on light tackle. My Grandpap went after them every spring...called them suckers. A lil bony but very tasty. The fallfish is actually a strain of the creek chub family. The IGFA All Tackle World Record for Fallfish is 3lb 9oz caught by Jonathan McNamara in the Susquehanna River near Owego, New York, USA in April 2009. Previous records come from New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Interesting article from the VA DWR:Tarpon of the Commonwealth

I love catching fall fish. That one looks on the small size tho. State record??? Yeah...MD State Record. I thought the same per pic....ive seen bigger? His was 2lb 14oz with the IGFA World Record 3lb 9oz. Most all I caught were likely in the 1-1.5lb range...tho never weighed them. Couldn't find any PFBC data on the Fallfish as they're not listed in PA's Biggest Fish Record categories. MD DNR Fallfish Info

Always enjoyed catching a good sized fallfish. They love corn. Rarely do they get badly hooked either, so they get thrown back
