Governor Tom Corbett has nominated Charles Fox to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Game Commission, and Rocco Ali to serve on the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Pending confirmations by the Pennsylvania Senate, Fox will represent the Pennsylvania Game Commission’s 5th District, while Ali will represent the 2nd District of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Both men are avid sportsmen, conservationists, and Life Members of the NRA who will do a great service to Pennsylvania. We commend these nominations and encourage an expeditious confirmation by the Pennsylvania Senate. Fox has devoted a lifetime of service to conservation, hunting heritage, and youth mentorship. He has 47 years of experience as a Hunter Education Instructor, and 40 years of experience as a Deputy Wildlife Conservation Officer for the Pennsylvania Game Commission. In addition to a plethora of outdoor and sportsman affiliations, he previously worked as a High School Assistant Principal in the Troy School District. Ali is a well known activist for sportsmen’s issues in the Commonwealth. He served as President of the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs and was an active member in several other outdoor and conservation organizations. The Game Commission is a state agency that manages wildlife resources for current and future generations of Pennsylvanians. The mission of the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission is to manage and protect the Commonwealth’s aquatic resources, including the maintenance of meaningful access to waterways for hunters.

For Immediate Release Contact: Gary Moore | gary@pfsc.org 717-232-3480 September 19, 2012 The Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs (PFSC) is pleased with Governor Tom Corbett's nomination of Mr. Rocco Ali of North Apollo, for the position of Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commissioner - District #2. Ali, an active member of the PFSC for nearly 20 years, has held a number of offices at the state and local levels of the organization. Mr. Ali is a life member, a past president and currently serves as the secretary of PFSC. Local club activities and sportsmen's issues have been his passion for many years. As an avid angler, boater and hunter, Mr. Ali is very familiar with the importance of promoting and protecting water quality management, conservation practices and outdoor recreational activities. His understanding of the need to balance environmental matters and economics is well recognized. "His knowledge of many of the issues facing the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission will surely be a valuable asset to the board", said PFSC Past President Ted Onufrak. Current PFSC President, Chuck Lombaerde, spoke highly of Ali, stating how proud they were that "one of our own was being nominated to fill the role of a commissioner with the Fish and Boat Commission." Lombaerde went on to say, "While his active presence will be sorely missed on our board, we wish him the best of everything as he moves through the rest of the confirmation process." Mr. Ali's nomination still needs approval by the Pennsylvania Senate. We wish Mr. Ali well during the remainder of the confirmation process. The PFSC is a statewide organization of clubs and individual members advocating for the benefit of fishing, hunting, trapping, shooting sports and other conservation related matters. A "united voice" for the concerns of all sportsmen and conservationists; to insure that their rights and interests are protected; and to protect and enhance the environment and our natural resources. The PFSC is located at 2426 N. 2nd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17110 and can be reached at 717.232.3480 / info@pfsc.org / www.pfsc.org
