I'm looking for a Winchester 1892 in 44 mag. I just missed a nice Miruko one on GB. It was the deluxe takedown model. More than I wanted to pay.....but......(the 1892's don't seem to have import marks that go almost the length of the barrel like the imported 1894's do)
If you know of any, lemme know. I don't mind the tang mounted safety, but don't want the side button one. Winchester went to great lengths on the side safety to make 'em ugly.
Don't want a Marlin or Browning as the rate of twist in those barrels for the 44 mag are not fast enough for heavier lead bullets.
Just searching!!!

It took some time, but I "found" a Winchester 1892 in 44 mag. Full octagon barrel, rifle not carbine, built around the year 2000 in New Haven, but at that time Miruko owned Winchester. That doesn't bother me. Hopefully, this one will be an accurate shooter using lead bullets at lower velocities. I'm not looking to hunt with this rifle....but I'm looking to do a pile of range plinking with it.
About 3 years ago I bought 500 pieces of 44 mag brass (Starline) to use in a Marlin 44 mag I bought. I could not get that Marlin to like anything lead. Full boat Hornady XTP's it was quite accurate......but after ten or so of those, your shoulder takes a beating.
Welp.....I'll keep ya posted.

Took the new to me 1892 to the range today. This one's a keeper. Gotta get a peep sight for it though.
