Looks like a take off of the 6.8 SPC.
I do agree with looking at downrange velocities and energy and compare one cartridge\bullet to another. Like the 6.5x55, or the 6.5 Needmore when compared to say the .308. All the downrange energy from the 6.5 cartridges with half the felt recoil.
What's not to like?

My thoughts too Dave!! If I were looking for a long range round especially for elk one I would certainly consider. I know after watching a few guys at camp on last years PA Elk hunt shoot their 300 Winnies, H&H's & RUMS....brought back memories when I had a 300 Winnie unmercifully whacking me. Been there, done that.... so have no desire to revisit!

Well...I tell ya...I just sold my Win 1894 in 32 Special and am in the market for a Winchester 1892 in 44 mag. I'll even consider a new Miroku build.....but right now I simply cannot find an 1892 in 44 mag. It's gotta be a Winchester as the barrel twist rate is perfect for heavy bullets. The Marlin twist rate is too slow and I hate that micro-grove stuff! And I want the quality of the Winchester build.
I looked at a very nice one in 44-40......but you can't find brass, bullets, or factory ammo. What's the point of buying a rifle you can't shoot?
I got 500 44 mag pieces of brass plus about the same in bullets and the powder\primer to reload 'em.
So....there I am.....New rifle---no ammo.....or Lots of ammo......no rifle in that caliber!!!

My Browning 6.5CM X-Bolt is a Miroku which is even stamped on barrel. Workmanship is second to none.
A never ending circle Dave!!

When I first saw this.....thought about you Dutch!! If I just didn't spring for an X-Bolt 6.5CM.....this is one I'd likely be even more closely looking at. The downrange energy of this one is really amazing considering such mild recoil.. I may soon be buying a truck so my new gun days are coming to an end....least for a while.

My Browning 6.5CM X-Bolt is a Miroku which is even stamped on barrel. Workmanship is second to none. A never ending circle Dave!! When I look at the Miroku's (lever guns) the looks are fine.....but for one exception. The importer STAMPS A VOLUME OF WAR AND PEACE ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE BARREL!!I'm sure it's a requirement of BAFT for the firearm to have an import mark.....but to do what the importer is doing to the rifle barrel is a crime itself!!

On my Browning X-Bolt left side bbl: Browning Arms Company Morgan, Utah Made in Japan/Miroku On Right side bbl : X-Bolt Cal. 6.5 Creedmoor only.
Could be due to BATF regulation difference as Browning(US Corp) is licensing Miroku vs Miroku(foreign corp) directly importing their lever guns. Agree....I wouldn't like that bbl stamping either.

BAFT (as I understand it) does require the importer to place a "permanent" mark on the firearm. However.....it doesn't have to be as big or even on the barrel. They could do this import stamp much smaller and unobtrusive.
But hey.....my advice and $1.25 will get you a coffee at Sheetz!!

I bought a 300wsm when the first came out in 2000.In fact,it was the first one Grice got in.I just had to have it but truth be told,I'll probably never get a chance to use it for what it was intended for.I don't find it obnoxious to shoot, even at 6lbs but it sat in the safe for about the last 5 or 6 years. This past year Jordan wanted to use it.He shot a couple deer with it,including one that he dropped in her tracks at 267 yards.
