Big fish to catch on medium tackle. Lucky to get it in. Really nice fish. With the rise in popularity of catfishing and alot of people practicing CPR there has been alot of state records that have fallen the last couple years. I think NC's blue cat record fell twice last year in 24 hrs. Same guy caught both fish.

Yep CS...commendable he landed that monster on medium tackle from shore!! Before I got hooked on saltwater floundering & crabbing did a lot of fishing in the lower Susquehanna in areas below Conowingo Hydro Dam on down to the brackish Susky flats(upper Chesapeake). Normally catfish were mostly channels in the 3-10 lbs range with an occasional 15 plus pounder. Below are a few my friend Jack(GreyBear, Jr) caught launching from the MD DNR Lapidum Ramp where record flathead was taken. These size channels are great eating:

Is the Susquehanna suitable to keep catfish out of? The Ohio over here they don't recommend keeping anything over 18" for catfish. I have thought about making a roadtrip sometime to the Susquehanna to fish.

But.....but....but....Loggy, why do you have that LARGE satellite dish on your boat? Are you keeping in contact with an alien ship that tells you where the BIG fish are at? Now we know your secret!!! (Hey....can you ask 'em to tell me where any 21 point bucks are located?)

They do have some consumption recommendations same as stocked trout, tuna etc but you would need to be eating so much fish that you would look like a fish!! lol The CBF has done much in helping clean-up the Chesapeake.

I had to run some errands this morning and was in Williamsport, Maryland about two blocks from the Potomac river. I drove over to Cushwa Basin to view the river and saw the strangest sight. Snapped a picture and thought I'd share it with you fellows. Sorry Loggy, but this is a "catfish" thread so thought it most appropriate to post here.
