A few years ago,I had a gunsmith build me a .338 federal from model 7 action. He did a great job but the gun just never felt right to me so I sold it a couple months ago. It's not that I didn't really like it but I have a Kimber Montana in .308 that I can't be without when I'm hunting deer.I really did like everything about the .338 federal so today I sent my beloved and very accurate.308 toJES reboring to have her made into a .338 federal.I just hope when it comes back that it shoots as good as the .308

One guy told me years ago, never mess with a gun that shoots. I sure hope it works out.

I've read a lot of good news about JES. I have a Winchester pre-64 1894 in 32 special that I'm thinking of getting rebored to a different caliber. Post your results when you get it back!!

I never said a prayer for a gun, but what the heck. 🥴

Why would I say a prayer for Doug? I don't even like the guy! 😂

So I got it back yesterday, took it home to re-assemble and discovered that the safety is stuck on the fire position.Other than though,I'm pleased.I shot a couple different loads at 50 yards with 180 graccubonds and 185gr ttsx. Both loads shot into a cluster as you should expect at 50 yards but the TTSX's were literally one hole.

My fault the safety was stuck. I failed to offer a prayer.

Of course I would but I fixed it.They didn't rotate the bolt after head spacing it.It was an easy fix.
