I refuse to spend $10 on a button, I hated paying $5 two years ago.

It's a donation.... You didn't have to buy it for $5.00. When it first came out I liked it because I didn't have to display that license just pin the button on my hat. I have a lifetime license so I consider the $10 a donation. I'm not a big time fisherman, don't keep anything..It all goes back. I just fish to go fishing, paddle around in my kayak for a few hours and enjoy the time. I wasn't going to get a trout stamp again but then felt guilty and saw the new green licenses and decided to get a 3 year. Same with hunting, take my beagles out and seldom carry a gun. This year I carried a Marlin model 60 just to say I hunted with a semi automatic, and the world is still spinning.

I looked into the multi-year licenses this year. Was disappointed in all the more discount there is for buying ahead. You simply save the yearly transaction costs.

Not sure how much warning we will get now as the PFBC can now raise rates on its own?

Not sure how much warning we will get now as the PFBC can now raise rates on its own? Wouldn't they have to vote on it? I would think that there would be a gap from the vote till when it took effect. Also didn't they actually lower them a couple of years ago? Maybe I am imagining something, but I think I recall that. On a side note I would think their coffers are fuller than they have been in a while after this year. Be interesting to see the final numbers. I think boat/kayak registrations were up like 40% and licenses were like 20% earlier in the year. Heck I just got back my registration for my boat that I bought in August just a couple of weeks ago. They were that backed up.

What's the idea of the button anyway? Just a fundraiser?

When it was required to display license on your person the button sufficed as long as you had your paper license with you. Since it is no longer required to display it is basically a fund raiser, tho I still display it on my hat. It does have your CID number on it so there's that.
Besides, Dutch made me feel guilty getting a lifetime senior license

They were that backed up. They would vote on it a few months before. If you'd have a current one year license, your next one would be at the new price. I think mine is up now, so, I'm getting a five year. I'm assuming they will raise them for 2022.

Hopefully PA gets an APP in the near future for the licenses.

Hopefully PA gets an APP in the near future for the licenses. You will be on Social Security when that happens. 😃
