Anyone on here have any experience with pellet guns ?
Island I live on in Fla has seen a increase in Iguanas . They are not native, and can be very destructive (burrowing) to sea walls and other foundations. Fla dept of wildlife encourages locals to kill them.
Pellet guns are legal there, and some people are using them. I was thinking I would get one and find best pellets for accuracy while I am up here and have a much better place to work with it. just not sure what to buy ?

I dunno a lot about 'em. I can tell you that the break action type (one break.....push air into it's holding gizmo and snap the barrel back) are single shot....and louder than Hi-Vel 22 ammo. I have one and can't stand the thing.
If I were looking I'd likely get one with a built in suppressor. And if you wanna go up in price, get one that can be charged up with a diving tank. They are "repeaters" and very quiet.....plus no manual labor involved!!

Bought my son a Crosman 760 pellet rifle when he was five or six. Shoots BBs or .177 pellets (single shot). Pump up, ten pumps for max velocity. Rifled barrel, so fairly accurate with pellets out to about 40 feet. Powerful enough to kill chipmunks, starlings and a few other things. Don't know if they still make them or not? Last ones I saw in the store didn't have a rifled barrel.
I have a Benjamin "springer" (break open, close to charge the shot). PITA to cock, pretty accurate out to 25 yards with the 4X scope that came with it, far more powerful than that little Crosman. Shot a woodchuck in the head a few weeks ago, that kept digging in the little shelter I park my lawn tractor in. Made it back to his burrow, ain't opened it up since then, so figure he's dead?
Yeah, it's pretty loud compared to the Crosman. I shoot 6.9gr pellets in both. Have some heavier ones I got for the Benjamin, ain't found 'em lately.
