Long story short.....I was at a KECA banquet last fall and bid on a day fishing for two at Rolling Rock Country Club. So....I "won" the bid at a .....what I thought a paltry $250. So....$125 per man to fish this exclusive club.
The first 45 minutes me and my buddy caught 5 each and missed that many or more. Then for the next two hours the fishing got tough!! The water was gin clear and spooking the trout....and there were a ton of trout in every hole, or riffle.....was not hard to do.
The stream is small and I just wore my hip waders up to the knee. Then my buddy noticed a green drake hatch. We switched to a green drake and the fun began. Caught about 15 more....and missed that many or more.....using a Green Drake.
All in all it was a great day. The staff was very nice and the fellow took us to the section of the stream we would be fishing and gave us a ton of information.
Likely could have caught that many fish on a Pa. FFO stream.....but we had a 600 yard long section of stream with well built water overflows, pools and riffles all to ourselves. It was a fun day!!

Sounds like a fun trip Dave!! I hear RR CC is one of the most luxurious clubs in the country!! I have never seen the clubhouse itself. Only the "Fishing Shack." The Shack is really just an older very well kept building. Wooden floors. Fishing vest and rain wear on racks with a very large assortment of flies nicely displayed for easy reach. Of course, no prices on anything. If you have to ask.......you can't afford it. RRCC is where Cheny got into some PETA targeting...and I think a peek by the PGC as before he was VP his guide got him in the crosshairs by stating to the press that Cheny shot about 50 ringneck that day. Hey....it's a private club and I dunno how PGC laws would apply there and at that time in history. But the facility is nice and sits in an all wooded site. I'm sure all big game laws apply but like a pay as you whack pheasants place, I'm not sure how that matters there.
