I got an email today from Remington. They are finally getting around to doing the recalls to replace the triggers on model 700 rifles. I requested a box to mail mine in, and should get it within a week or so. I do wish they would replace the safety with a bold locking one like other rifle manufacturers have.

I've never owned a Remington rifle. Just one shotgun and I sold it and put the funds towards an O\U Beretta. It's not that I dislike the Rem's, I just never picked one up that I had to have.

I have a model 700 BDL .270 that I got about thirty five years ago. How do I find out if mine is covered?

That safety comes up for sale on eBay occasionally. Got one for my son’s rife a few years back. Easy switch, even a caveman can do it.

As long as the bolt has the locking slot it in it, it should work.
