Just give him the credit for it is all I ask he stirred it up and now everyone suffers from it when they need to buy ammo. He may be my president but won't consider him it of say he is. I can except responsibility for my actions when will he start? I merely posted about ammo supply/demand...sorry you wish to sadly derail this thread in other directions political etc etc per your whim... Just seems to me you can't give Obama the credit for this mess. Your the one who said about the boogieman can you guess who the boogieman is?

The guy in the White House, and his appointee's, will do all he can to take every firearm from every law abiding citizen. Anyone who doesn't think that is true is living in La-La land. I'll bet anyone a steak dinner, you name to place in western Pa, that a brick of .22 ammo never goes below $20.00 Never? I'll take this bet. Anyone get to Gander and see what the deal was? I got the same email yesterday.

The "mess" is what it is. We have men and women now "elected" into high places who will do whatever they can to disarm Americans. It is who they are, what they believe in, and it is part of their overarching agenda which is consolidated power in the federal government and total, absolute control over the people. Take away the peoples means to overturn an all powerful and corrupt government and the power at the top is secure. It is a concerted effort that has been on going for some time (read Fast and Furious) and will return again and again as each new domestic "crisis" opens the door for new opportunity of disarmament. The two greatest threats to this nation have now become the "free" press abrogating their responsibility to be the watchdog over government and the outright assault on the 2nd Amendment. As this was a thread on ammo prices and scarcity, rest assured that in the future there will be a continued attempt to keep ammo out of the hands of the citizenry. It is little more then an end around to the demise of the 2nd Amendment. Rest assured that this current administration is fearful of the people if armed. That is as it should be. That is why there is a 2nd Amendment. Ammo scarcity, higher taxes on ammo, government buy-ups, purchase "forms", scarcity on reloading components, etc. will all come into play in the future. If they can't get the guns outright then they'll try for the ammo. Have we seen this before? Yep in the 90's, but this time the "free" press has willingly become the "government press" and as partners they turn a blind eye to the outright abuse of power by this administration. That has become the difference. That is the danger. The statement was made: "For those looking to further stock the arsenals in their bunker..." regardless of whether it was made in malice or jest it is not necessarily a bad thing to consider as we find ourselves in the midst of an administration that continues to attempt to undermine the rights and freedoms of the people. Again, it is what they believe in: absolute power at the Federal level. Rest assured...they will not stop until they get what they want. This is indeed a brave new world in America. Some will simply stick their heads in the sand and say that it'll never happen here...but consider how we got "here". Call me crazy, paranoid, conspiracy theorist, whatever (I've been called far worse)...for those of us with some years under our belts we have not seen this kind of internal threat to our basic rights and freedoms in our lifetimes: that is why we have and will continue to "further stock the arsenals in our bunkers."

A local gun shop advertised they had bulk Winchester 22LR ammo. 325 rounds for $17. My shootin buddy went up to this place and waited in line for 2 hours to get 2 boxes. Now, I had to drive up to the car dealer where I bot my truck to get something, so I jaunted across the street to the gun shop. I was the only guy in there at ten am on a Tuesday morning and I ask 'em if they had any of their 22LR ammo left. The guy (too my surprise) said....YUP...and sold me two boxes.
Hey.....some day's you just get lucky. I then pulled into the gas station across the street, only to see Muab driving off with some beautiful blond, and ammo plinking all out of the bed of his truck!!!

The problem is, prices are still high, and will be for a long time since the Ganders of the world had to pay the manufacturers inflated prices. They can't give the stuff away, they have to try and recoup their expenses in procuring what is on the shelf.
:/
Take a co-signer to the store...

Been hearing that many underground bunkers are now nearing their ammo storage capacities so market/demand pressures are accordingly subsiding which will lead to more ammo available for us all at more friendly prices!! lol

Just picked up a couple of boxes of Rem CoreLokts at Gander. They had them on sale with a rebate. Plenty of stock all around including some bulk CCI .22lr. Not a ton but plenty.

heard from a reputable dealer yesterday that prices probably aren't going to go down - what's driving things is China's demand for copper/lead/brass - they're buying it as fast as they can and forcing prices upwards and he figures that's going to continue. But on a more positive note, we will have 5 bricks of 22s to raffle off at convention, one at a time. Maybe $5 a ticket with only 50 tickets per brick. If anyone's interested......

Just had a guy stop by on his way from Grice's - bricks of Federal 22 LR are $24.95 - limit 3 per customer.
