Since Dave's thread on his Savage build came up, and White Falcon posted a photo of a very nice Parker Hale, I thought we might have a thread about some of our prettiest "pretty things." Feel free to add a photo of your favorite Go-To rifle. I will start it off with a rifle that I aquired back in 1991 in preparation for my first big game hunt. Since then it has been all over North America and to Africa and New Zealand as well. The rifle is a Weatherby Vanguard VGX in .300 Weatherby magnum caliber. The original scope I had on it was a Leupold Vari X II in 4-12X, but back when the internet boom made me wealthy (temporarily) I splurged and put the current Swarovski 2.5-10X scope on it. The stock has a few dings and the barrel a scrape or two, as this on is not a safe queen but has been used. I admit that the .300 Weatherby caliber is a bit much for PA whitetails, so it is not my Go-To rifle for them. That would have to be my old .257 Roberts.
