I know a lot of target shooters preach a tight ball and patch combo, requiring a hammer and mallet almost for accuracy. Well not just us but a lot of guys for deer hunting, not match shooting have found that a small ball and thick patch with bear grease with a coned muzzle make an awesome combo for minute of deer. Easy to load, no blow by if so negligable. Dont need a mallet to hunt with if ya get my drift.
One guys .60 takes a .580 or .575 with a .025 patch bear grease and can group the bottom of a beer can at 50 yards...good enough. If it took ten spots to kill deer most of us wouldn't hit any....
