I now have ammo loaded for the 243,3-308s,2-30-06s an 2-30-30s ! Today I hope to go to the range and check the scopes again ? Only have to check 1-30-06 and 1-30-30 but may shoot a couple of the others for fun ! The 243 and 1-30-06 I fine tuned right before senior doe season so they are good to go ? One 30-30 is a Marlin and it hasn't been shoot since last season and is clean so it will take a couple of rounds to settle it in? The other 30-30 is an old Savage -340. It will out shoot the Marlin for accuracy at the bench . My grandsons 30-06 is ready to go and needs shot to make sure it is on to? This rifle may not even see the woods this year for he has gotten a 10 point in archery and also a doe tag filled . He is in his second year of nursing at Bloomsburg Uni. and refuses to take a day off ? He tells me " Pappy I am paying for this schooling and refuse to miss any of my classes ." ARE YOU READY ?

Willy, my rifle choices are limited to only three. 257, 270 and 30-06 with the 257 my favorite. I feel guilty leaving the 257 Roberts in the cabinet.
Oh, I am ready and have amply loaded rounds for all the above. Have a great season.

Exactly why I gave up archery. Three years in a row I had to miss Rifle deer because my buck tag was filled in Archery. I decided enough of that. Because for me an Archery kill isn't as personally satisfying as a rifle kill is.

Mike I feel the same way. I love to be able to go out with my sons and grandson in the season on the first day. To have an early breakfast and here the plans for the day while it is still dark and to see other folks at the café doing the same thing !

If they ever take Rifle season away I'll quit hunting. Archery just doesn't do it for me. I'm not above hunting flintlock season with a bow though if I still don't have my venison.

He is in his second year of nursing at Bloomsburg Uni. and refuses to take a day off ? He tells me " Pappy I am paying for this schooling and refuse to miss any of my classes ." The kid has his priorities straight!! I did the same thing way back in the days of getting my education. He's young and will have time to do more hunting when he's out of school and has a job.....hopefully with some vacation time!!!

My 260 and the Creedmoor are ready. Just need to reload some shells for deer season.
My daughter says she wants to go the first day and my nephew got out of a business trip so he could join us.
Next year, both of them will be living out of state
