I still have not shoot the Traditions a guy gave me last year and have bought a new Lyman Deerstalker .
The Traditions is a Pa. Pellet model ? For some reason I just am leary of Traditions brand . It must be from years ago? Have they changed and became a better product ? Besides that the fellow whom gave it to me didn't clean it and it has some pitting in the barrel ! I will try it though. I have had a couple of Lyman rifles and liked them. I had a Beautiful Great Plains Rifle . 2 things I disliked were it was so darn long and that half moon butt plate . So I sold it to a fellow I worked with and he loves it ! The Deerstalker ? This is my second one of these in the last few years . About 10 to be exact . I like the wood and how well it handles and the ease of which it will fire when the rock falls on the frizzen ! My last one my youngest son said he liked it and wanted to get one ? He ask me to sell it to him . I didn't want to so I gave him a price I didn't figure he could come up with the money ? Be darned if he didn't come to the house with the money ! I get the urge to go play and would you not know I left my new can of 2FF and my other sons while we shot in the in lines. Go get it right ? That is 127 miles away ! Well looks like I have to make a trip to buy some more powder ? So what can happen next ? Rain happened is what is to cope with now !

I was at the range today shooting my .54 cal rifle and my .50 cal pistol. Both flintlocks. This time I shot FFF powder loads from each. For the pistol I used 50gr. The rifle 85gr.
I love the smell of sulfur!!!

The PaPellet model is a lot better than the Deerhunter model from Traditions.
