Hey! I just moved to the Langhorne area of Eastern PA from Central-ish NJ. I've only really been hunting for about two years now (both bow and shotgun) and I've been told this area of Bucks County is tough to hunt because it's heavily pressured especially during firearms season. Any help, advice, or tips I can get for the upcoming deer and bear season would be greatly apprecaited (and I may or may not work at a brewery so any help may or may not be rewarded with a few cases of beer ). I'm also hoping to try out some small game stuff this year like grouse and squirrel. Thank you!

You are in one the best bow areas in the state. If you can get permission on private land, you should do well.

Thank you! I've been in contact with the farmer that collects our used grain from the brewery. I know he allows people to hunt his land, but from the sounds of it, it seems like he doesn't really want anymore guys out there. I believe the closest public lands to me are Lake Nockamixon and Evansburg park. I've done a little research on Nockamixon and that seems to be a bust from what I'm reading.

I think Tyler State Park has special archery hunts. Check with the park office

Your vehicle will open up the state to you. I often drive 2 hours, hunt all day, and then drive 2 hours back home. It keeps me from becoming trapped in my general vicinity. Although I do live in Lebanon county which has absurd amounts of State Game Lands. You'd do well to drive to SGL 145 or 156.

We who hunt in this state are blessed with huge areas of public land, most of which is open to hunting. Access is easy to that land. It is easy to get to if you have a motor vehicle. You live in an area of the state that is way too far from where I hunt, or I would invite you to explore the area in which my camp is located. Still, within two hours or so of Langhorne, there are quite a number of state game lands and state forests. Our DCNR provides good maps of the state forests. Our game commission also provides maps of state game lands. My advice to you is do some exploring in the off season. Good luck, and remember that the good luck part of hunting is just getting out there.
