I needed an idea on holding a ram rod into my rifle stock and ended up with guys and round ball blood trail ?? I just don't know how folks can get off track so easy ! It doesn't seem to matter what you try to find out or start a thread on it ends up in a clean different subject ? Some time the folks get all out of shape over their statements if some one doesn't agree with their ideas! And a lot of the time it is the same people getting disturbed over every one not agreeing with their thoughts ! I just figured out on here which ones they are and keep my thoughts to my self .

Duct tape is the answer to almost any question. Or black vinyl electrical tape, in a pinch?

Not sure what your entire post is driving at, but as denny stated, slap a couple wraps of electrical tape (more becoming that Duct) arund it, and be done with it. If you are looking for a more "aesthetic" solution after muzzy season, I would have to know the exact cause of the "problem" to offer a viable solution.
There, not off track.

fleroo, the guy who gave me the gun lost the flat spring that holds the rod down inside of the stock. Rubber bands will do the job.

If it's a Traditions, I believe the "spring" you refer to, looks kinda like an elongated letter "S". I believe a bolt that travels through the stock holds it in place via a loop that the bolt slides through on the spring, or tang if you will. That said, call Traditions with your model of gun, and I'm sure they can send one out in the mail. Be a "more proper" look after the season, than tape, rubber bands, or gum. Besides, if your friends see those rubber bands, they might poke fun, and call you ornery names like, "Redneck" or "Goober". By the way, I'm alluding to a Traditions, because I believe you mentioned that brand of muzz ? Perhaps on another site ? Anyhow, the "process" of acquiring another is the same no matter which company. Also, if all else fails, call Dixon's. See, sometimes I can be more helpful than just having the keen ability to discuss the finer points of gorgeous, yet aging, women of politics.
