Thanks Buzz. I think I'm starting to see why you venture south in the winter!! The temps are much warmer even in VA as it's 250 miles south of here. Up at Hillsgrove this past weekend I froze my arse off!! Gettin too old for that!!

You sound like the Mrs Dave....no patience!!!! You get purdy proficient once you crack a few thousand crabs....it ain't all that bad!! If you work up a sweat...there's usually a cold brew very nearby to cool you off!

Sounds like you are far enough south to a least be able to enjoy being outdoors every day. You also obviously have some great hobby's down there. I can't stand being cooped up in the house. Winters up here seem to be "black & white", gloomy overcast days, short on hours of daylight, and cold. I am outside everyday where I go in the winter, and lots of sun and color in the vegetation. I am fine up here until after ML season, then I get pretty grumpy....... I never realized how many more hours of daylight there is in SW Fla compared to up here. I was looking at my security cam's (from this home)when I was in Fla, and realized the difference. You are blessed to have a place like that, and your grandkids will someday appreciate your introducing them to all it has to offer. And you obviously get to enjoy time spent with them down there.

Prior owner planted some nice crab apples at our place!! I've seen some deer in the front yard already but of course had no camera then. Nothing immaculate there as I told the Mrs I could move there in a minute. She said....enjoy yourself plus come home to visit from time to time!! Least I have anuther place to flee go to when im in the doghouse in addition to my Sully County Camp!!

Thanks Rem. Last few years ive been spending more time on the water vs in the woods. Neither of my girls hunt but they love to crab & fish which are sports I introduced them to when they were young. Both are in their early 30's now. They had minimal interest in hunting which was fine with me as i love the fishing sport probably more than hunting. Nice thing with fishing it can easily be done 12 mths a year and the table fare is enjoyed much more by ALL even the Mrs!! lol. Now i have a grandson who is almost 2 who will introduced to the water. Already bought him a rod/reel plus life jacket. I can't wait!!

Well, it sure is hard to identify the best crabcake place. There is a bunch of them! Two of my favorites are within walking distance of my condo, Sunset Grille and The Shark.
