As i got older and into my late 60s and 70s, i just could not take the recoil of my beloved 30 caliper rifles ? I have long arms so i figured i would try a slip on recoil pad. I bought a Limb Saver brand for my rifles. Next i got a Pachmayr and a KICK EEZ brands. I don't leave it on the rifle for hunting season but it sure helps me in the warmer weather shooting at the range. My favorite is the LIMB SAVER brand. It sure cuts down on the felt recoil from my 30-06 and my 308s ! I like the KICK EEZ brand also and i would put the Pachmayr Decelerator as being a close second choice to use? Any of you folks use these slip on pads ?

I don't. I sold my 30-06 to a kid. Went to a 260 Remington and now 6.5 Creedmoor. Don't miss the 06.

My .300 Weatherby has a recoil pad. I don't mind the recoil of anything .30-06 down.

I use a PAST recoil shield at the range. It works but it doesn't live up to the 75% reduction claims.

I have a limb saver pad on my Marlin 45/70 takes it down to a 308 recoil. No pad on the Henry 45/70. It's so dang heavy it absorbs most of the recoil.
