I don't feel that is a good thing to do ! My ammo is at lest 3 days or maybe weeks old ? I think this gives the hand loads a chance to stabilize in the cases to have them more consistent ! But there is a limit on how long i store loads that i have assembled to hunt with . 3 to 6 months is all the longer i will trust them ? Most of the time as soon as i get a chance i take the ammo and tear it down after the season is over ? Why ? Until you run into cold welding of the bullet to the cases you won't understand how come i learned do this .

I have used reloads that are more than 10 years old.
My brother killed a buck last year and the reloads were 20 years old.

I've found cold welding in my handloads after only a year or two. No big deal but it will spike pressures and reduce accuracy. Fresh handloads are the best handloads.

If you are curious if you're handloads have cold welded take your seating die and turn it in. Seat the bullet on one of the loads a little deeper. If you hear a pop, they're cold welded.

Knock on wood but I haven't shot a factory load in over 30 years and never had that problem.

20 years? Pffft!! I have reloads for some rifles I don't shoot much, that are older than that.
While I always drag it along to deer camp and shoot it before the season to check zero, my heavy barrel 25-06 loads were put together in 1993. Last time I killed a deer with it was in 2000, at over 400 yards. Since I figure to use it again this year, am loadin' up some fresh fodder. Only because I only had 13 rounds left from '93.
Last time I loaded up 32 Special rounds, was in the early 90s. Got plenty of 'em left. 8x57 ammo was loaded in 2002, have killed a few deer with them since. When I was still killing hundreds of woodchucks each year, loaded hundreds of 22-250 and 25-06 rounds, too. Them days are over.
