With fox season only a couple weeks away, does anyone have any insight or predictions on fur prices this year ?

Keep them, tan them and then sell them at trappers conventions, or take the 8 bucks up front. Its a lose lose situation for both us and the foxes~!

If you know some farmers who are having troubles with 'coons, this might be a good year to gain permission and help the guy out. If prices do go up again it may pay off for you by giving you some good land to trap.
The price for all fur looks pretty bad for the near future.

October is rather early for 'em. Fur hasn't fully developed yet.

Been seeing a lot of coons killed on the roads lately Yes. I don't know why that is during the fall. Why did the raccoon cross the road?......NOT!

Maybe the 'coons try to cross the road in hopes of proving to the 'possums that crossing a road is possible.

Trapping coons is probably the best thing you can do to improve your hunting area, killing them takes a huge predator out of your area, turkeys, grouse and rabbits are all prey of coons, not alone frogs and small birds, racoons are of no benefit to anyone, farmer or hunters,

The first year I bought my place, my son and I kept 8 or ten traps running for a few weeks around one of our fields. We caught more than thirty 'possums and 10 or twelve 'coons. None of us trapped last year and I expect we'd catch near the same number if ran a line this year. We did have to get rid of a few 'coon this summer that killed a couple chickens.
