Here are pics of my brother Dave's dog Frost. Love the little bugger. I marvel at how she can be running, full blast, and literally stop on a dime but whip around on point. Here is one of those times, thus her awkward position. And her she was working with a friends dog. Frost has a great nose, but is a bit less refined than most, so, it shocked us how well she worked with the other dog. Never knew how much I was missing by not enjoying hunting over a dog. The first time I ever hunted over a dog was due to JohnS and his group inviting me along. Thank you John.

I think all these hunting dogs are spoiled rotten, and they deserve it.

Ok, how do you run yotes with dogs? Trying to get them to run across open fields and such? Pretty much, we post guys in areas of the woods we hunt. We hunt the same places often and know where to post. This past Saturday we ran a large dark yote , he ran up a pole line to a guy, who was posted there because we missed him there the week before ,and this guy missed again, used a shotgun with #4 buck and the yote was out about 80 to 100 yards then turned and ran up a creek and into a culvert pipe under a 4 lane highway had to break the 6 dogs off before they crossed the highway, that ended the chase , he is bringing a 243 next weekend LOL. Another guy saw it cross a field out about 400 yards he too had a shotgun and was watching a farm road it went around him and crossed the field behind him. One of the guys trying to feed in the last hound saw it before he could unleash the dog.

I don't care if it's hounds running coons or setters, spaniels and shorthairs on point, I'd almost rather watch a good dog work than hunt.
