I took my three grandson's, ages 6, 4, and 2 (well...the 2 year old went to the playground with my oldest daughter who happen to be home from NY. Thank goodness!!) so me and my wife had the pleasure of "fishing" with the 6 and 4 year old at a local pond. This wild adventure actually lasted an entire hour.....and there must have been four thousand questions ask!! A lot of 'em were just one word questions like "Why?" But, man.....it was fun.
However, this was just a small local pond that was.....well I'm going to call it "infested" with geese. There was more geese poop around this pond than I've ever seen. I think the NHL could have played a game on the poop. And could still today. I dunno what the rules are for a goose cull, but this pond is way overdue for one. Maybe it's me but when you can't take a step without mashing a goose turd....it's really time to consider stocking up the local homeless food bank with protein.
I don't know if you are allowed to shoot a goose when it's in the water, but this would be a prime time to use an AR 15 on 'em. But then, I dunno if semi-auto rifles are permitted on goose or duck. I'm not a waterfowl hunter. Hate that type of hunting. But this location would be a prime one to just whack em outta there!!!

Nothing too much you can do ...except wait for a good thunder storm to wash stuff away. Fox and coon population must be way down ...they tend to cull them out

Yeah. Where these are located, there can't be enough fox or coon around to take down the population. I dunno if the new AR 15 rules apply to geese. Be a good day for a goose cull at this place. I wouldn't shoot. I'd go about harassing the PETA people with their "Geese have rights" signs. I'd have goose recipe cards to pass out.

When I bring home a goose, I do one of two things with it. Either I grind most of the meat to make goose bologna, which isn't too bad if I have to say so myself, or I slice it and make goose jerkey out of it. If desperation sets in, I have on occasion made a roasted goose breast, and it was fairly good. Goose meat is darker than bear meat. Since I don't hunt them all that much anymore, if someone has a goose breast they don't want, I would grind it and cook up a batch of goose chilli.

Well, I just honestly think there is so much goose poop in this otherwise very nice park, that bacteria has to be in said G-poop and with the kids running around, it can't be all that healthy for them. Maybe that's the approach......shoot 'em for public health reasons. Plus donate the meat to the homeless. Win Win.

It is a public health issue. They have fouled many waters and surrounding areas in this part of the state.

Mother nature has a way of weeding things out ...if there was something wrong with all that poop the geese will be feet up, so far, things seem to be healthy for them. In all respects, not for the human species. Liming the area might do the trick ...make the grass less tasty and tends to neutral the area out.
