I found some 308-LC brass in my pile of brass. It has the LC stamp on the rim but also LR stamped there to ? Any idea what the LR stands for ?

Probably Long Range, or designated for squad sniper (original) loads?

Long Range is what i thought of but have never heard of it being stamped on a case! I only have about 20 of them ! Maybe i should hold on to them ? What do you think ?

IIRC, match and other "special" ammo, was typically loaded in cases that had been inspected for uniformity?
Back when I was still forming 25-06 cases from 30-06 brass, someone gave me a mess of GI cases that were marked NM for national match.

After some searching and finding images I believe this is true (copied from a different forum) ""LR" marking on the case head; this case is from the M118LR 7.62X51 cartridge. It is loaded with the 175 gr Sierra Match King and issued to Squad Designated Marksmen/Sniper Teams for use in the EBR platform M14s and M40A2/A3 surgical bolt guns" There should not be a nato crossed circle on the case head.
