What makes ball powder temp sensitive but no so much stick powder ?

Off of memory.....is it the quantity of Nitroglycerin in the stick powders that make them more stable? I read the reason sometime way back.....and for some reason, this pop's up. My memory is like an elephant. Just like the one's the poachers take. horse2

It's only a concern for long range shooters. You'll never see much difference out to 150 yards. So I like ball powders even though they are more temp sensitive.

This is interesting. I never knew that ball powders were temp sensitive. I use WW 760 as my go to powder for the .250-3000 Savage, and have not noticed a difference. Perhaps this is because I have this rifle equipped with a peep sight and use it only for short range shots.
