Both bills giving PFBC and PGC the ability to set their own license fees passed the Senate today, 47 to 2.
Same thing happened last session, but never got any traction in the House. IIRC, they never got out of committee?

There was an excellent article in the paper on Sunday about how the leadership controls things, and only allows bills to come to votes.
A Senator can safely say they will vote for a bill knowing full well leadership will bottle it up. Helps them with constituents when they can say, "I'll vote for it if it comes up." Allows a Senator to even vote for a bill like this, knowing the people in the House will keep it in committee.
Last session, IIRC, only ONE bill that effected hunters, passed thru the legislature. ONE.
All the changes that are needed, and one bill.......
These people don't give a rats butt about hunters, but they all can propose bills or be co-sponsors, making them look good at home.
