Went to Middle Creek today. What a waste.
NEVER have I seen so many people there, all packed into a fairly small area, within a half mile of the visitors center. Both sides of Kville Rd parked full.
Just an absolute zoo.
Had my dad along, was hoping to get him out and get him some exercise. We just kept going and instead visited with my nephew and Pop got to see his great grandkids.
Had they opened the roads, people would have been a little more spread out?
Might try some evening or late afternoon this week, if he wants to go back.

Oh, and I had pulled over and got a text from Stroupy saying he was at Middle Creek as well. Any other time, I would have asked him where he was and chatted, not today. I couldn't get out of there fast enough. LOL

It was my first time there and if it is that full all the time it may be my last. Full like Dutch said. Couldn't get parked anywhere near the path.

Generally, when there are no snow geese, the place is empty.

Middle Creek wasn't built to handle 70,000 snow geese or a 1,000 Visitors. You should of stopped over at Schoeneck since it was overflowing at MC! I would have taken you to my private viewing spot.

I'm thinking there were more visitors than snow geese.

There were so many people from different states it wasn't funny. I can't get over the Asians that were there. They spoke Chinese or Japanese and all. Not sure what it was.

Isn't it funny how we try to get more people involved in the outdoors to carry on our sporting traditions and bitch about to many people doing what we want to do..... oh the dilemmas of today's world.
By the way I didn't run into any foreigners in my woods today, the family the dogs and me.

Uh Jim, these people weren't there in for any "sporting traditions".
I just choose not to participate when there are so many, and I can't get my dad to a drop off point where I could get his wheelchair out, then go park the car a half mile away, walk back, then walk/push him out a trail.
I CHOSE to come back at a later time, maybe this week, when it's less crowded, and an aold guy could enjoy it more.

Another dilemma the PGC faces, can you imagine the outcry if the PGC were to follow thru on their idle threat to close Middle Creek?

But in the end all of those tourist bring in money, they are buying gas, eating dinner and staying at hotels ensuring an untold number of minimum wage jobs that our kids can't afford to live on. We traded our high paying manufacturing jobs, for low wage, unskilled jobs and a reliance on food stamps, its the American way. I'm on my way to Wal-mart, so I can save money and live better.

I'm dreaming here but imagine if the PGC used MC as a bargaining chip to convince the Legislators they need a license increase. First thing tomorrow morning Dave Mitchell & Lauren Fenstermacher should contact WGAL Channel 8 News and call a Press Conference explaining how if they don't get a license increase MC will shut down. The PGC gotta be real serious about this and spin it anyway they want. Then the higher ups within the PGC should make sure all Legislators get an email with a link to the "News Release" telling how without a license fee increase, starting on July 1st MC will be closing.
Then they should put up "Notices" inside the Visitors center stating the same. That way we can educate all the Camera People as they stroll thru all the exhibits at MC.
Can you imagine all the protests from the hikers, bikers, horse riders and of course the Camera People. The Visitors from other Countries could even bring pressure on the Legislators. There could even be worldwide protests, bigger than the anti trump protesters!
The Politicians would be lining up to grant a license fee increase.

Just read in today's paper that Joe Scarnatti, head of the PA Senate, got $1.5 MILLION in PAC donations. More than our Governor!
A few higher ups got more from PACs than the PGC needs.........
Maybe hunters need a PAC. LOL

People were doing very idiotic things yesterday. I told my wife that the whole ordeal was an body mans dream. Turning around when traffic was hectic, trying to get parked in places that wouldn't fit their vehicle. Just was way overcrowded.
