Waited out the fog this morning for 3 hours to get a few pictures. The owl never left it's perch but I was able to improve on the pictures I previously took. Don't know if anyone is interested but here they are: Preening:

Wow! Diane told me that the first thing each morning her mother ask is; Where is my owl?" She said she then goes on "owl prowl' and reports back to her mother. Nice lady, who makes it a point to meet and greet.

Thanks longbeard. I was contemplating going back to see the owl today in hopes of better pictures but it is just plain ugly weather --- clouds and flurries all day. I guess I'm a little concerned that the little bugger might get tired of the crows, hawks and harriers harassing him and researchers catching him and banding him....plus he's eaten a lot of his food supply by now...??

I spent about 30 - 45 minutes there today and did not see the owl. I walked up and down the road for about 1/2 mile and couldn't find him. However someone else posted pictures taken today prior to my arrival, so I guess he is still there....hope so.

Bowbum do you sell your pics? No but I'm flattered that you would ask. I don't even mark mine with a signature and wouldn't know how to do it. We have been keeping to ourselves a few that we thought we might put on calendars for family in the coming year.

I think calendars is a great idea. Heck tht snowy pic woyld be cool in the man cave or cabin. Just a cool critter many never get to see.

Just got back from another "owl outing." The snowy was there, but at 200 yards and not moving. No good pictures today. I think he actually was there yesterday but I just couldn't see him in the bands of snow on the ground.

Perfect blue bird day today but cold, (25), and windy at Davisland Farm. The snowy was there but again, at about 125 - 130 yards and he was hunkered down with his eyes closed most of the time against the biting wind. I got one picture but in short time I was ready to pack it in and get warm. Again, there were people there who could not respect the landowners wish to stay out of the fields. I relayed to them that the landowner should be respected but I no sooner pulled away and I saw one girl taking a hike into the field. The landowner came in about that time and was very upset at the continuing need to admonish people. She had a rough week with folks just assuming they could walk up to the snowy and .... talk to it I guess! Anyway, maybe this will be my last effort for a while. As I said, he was really hunkered down:

The land owner needs to taze these trespassers.
