Nevermind. Just saw it close to 4 hrs away. I've spent 4 hours driving back and forth, multiple times. Of course you would have a return trip also. We went this morning to try out the new, "replacement" camera. I can't say I'm overly impressed with what I thought was a significant increase in reach. I just don't see the larger picture I guess. Saw an eagle on the way there but he was on the move. Don't know if I'll go again. Seems every time we go the owl is at least 100 yards out. Today she was in a different spot along the drainage but still quite far. I got one quick shot as we pulled up and then she flew closer but still an easy 100+ yards away! Eagle: Snowy owl:

Incidentally Todd it seems some people are getting over exuberant and not honoring the wishes of the land owner. One of the family this morning said they literally "had to throw one woman off the property" because she refused to stay out of the field and kept trying to get closer. It was a woman who had been there several times and been warned before.

Yep, happens every time. Where I got he short-eared owl photos last winter the landowner had the police involved. I had watched people driving back and forth along the edge of the road so they can get pics without leaving their vehicle. Rutted it all up.

Bowbum....great pics from your new camera!! Thanks Loggy. Sunshine would certainly help the effort but it looks like that is in short supply for the next week or so.
