A buddy ask me to come up to his camp near Tionesta in early January for their annual flintlock hunt. Well, I said yes....except I've already filled my antlered tag and I have no doe tag for that WMU. So, I believe I can take my electronic caller and either my .223 or .17 hornet (likely the Hornet) and hunt for coyote's and fox while they are flintlock hunting. We haven't worked out the logistic's of my cart yet.....but I really just need a "used" long power line and permission. But....I don't think I'm restricted to a flintlock firearm being that it's flintlock season. And I also have my furtakers license. Man.....my sentence structure is a D- at best.

I know for a fact you can do it with a Furtaker license. Same as in regular rifle season.

No furtakers required during this time of the year for coyote. Hunt away and good luck. The critters are tough to call in.
If you want to shoot a fox, you do need a furtakers.

I do know there was some craziness over being able to "participate" in a late flinter hunt, in the form of pushing or driving, if the "yote hunter" did not have a muzzy stamp also, or maybe it was a legal available deer tag to go along with the muzz stamp also ? It all gets goofy and whacky, which is why I have said for years, it takes a Rhodes Scholar to figure out that book nowadays.

If you are assisting flintlock hunters by trying to move game towards them, you need a muzzleloader tag. Yes, some carry a shotgun and claim they are small game hunting. Some carry a 223 and a squealer and claim they are coyote hunting. If they are doing the above and purposely attempting to move game for others, they still need the muzzleloader tag to be legal.

Hair splitting. Let the friggin dude carring a .223 "looking for a Yote", walk through a friggin thicket WITHOUT A MUZZY STAMP. Geezus.... it ain't the end of the world.
I can't tell you how many friends have pushed for me in flinter, and they only had a general license. Never muzz hunted in their life, and never intend to.
