I went to my spot this afternoon and noticed these canine tracks on the dirt road that I take to different "spots". So, wadda ya think? Me thinks it's coyote. Plus, some of the neighboring properties the PGC has signed up for public hunting and the PGC recently stocked pheasants. Yeah....tonight when I first set up I gave about two lost hen calls on my suction caller and the next 45 minutes a rooster would not shut up. I'm not sure, but it's my guess a fox likely got an early dinner. Stupid bird. Could also be the reason I saw no deer this evening. Coyotes do make the deer nervous even when they are getting a free meal. Oh well......a few more days and no more birds.

I'm no expert tracker, but you asked ? 2 things lead me to believe domestic. 1. Your confirmation that birds were recently stocked there (bird dog) 2. I would think a Yote would not show such prevalent nails. You would think they'd be kept well worn. Those more than likely are from a "couch dog".

Could be from a prissy female Yote that let's her man do all the dinner shopping, so as she keeps her nails prim and proper.

It could be domestic.....but when these were made it was very muddy. As you can see it has since dried up. And....nobody has permission to hunt this land. The other matter that makes me believe it's more coyote than domestic is the track continues in a straight line rather than an "S" or a back and fourth path that a bird dog would make.
Also....I did see a receipt from "Nails R Us" made out to Ms. KI Yote. So....the clues do lean.

Tire tracks where "nobody has permission" to hunt ? The owner gets back there and I get my truck back there to a point where I unload my cart. Then we set up a tent for tea and crumpets, start up the Honda generator, turn on the BIG screen TV, watch some Collage football (Oh....all those colors....it's so wonderful!!) then we hunt!! OR....maybe it's those fox that are driving back there.........

Lemme guess. The owner has a housedog, a Spaniel named "Chico", that follows his truck all around the farm ?

Lemme guess. The owner has a housedog, a Spaniel named "Chico", that follows his truck all around the farm ? No......But he does have pony's. But they are kept 5 miles away. I wonder if they fly at night. You know.....like the Pa. Cougars who eat their own poop and are exempt from camera's?
