There is an apple tree in front of the bear. You can see the apples laying on the ground maybe 20 ft in front of the bear. Further out there are three apple trees at a clearing. Kath has a spot along the clearing for archery bear season.

You are right Doug.
I know it's illegal, but would consider putting it out of its misery if I see it in a month and it's in worse shape.

Unless, you could get a WCO to trap and treat it,you'd be doing that bear and every other one a favor. If it's a sow with cubs, they're gonna get it as well.

Why waste money on a bear?
I'd be saving the PGC money by killing it.
I am not in favor of trapping and tranferring bears, like they do, NOR treating them.
For some reason, the PGC STILL treats bears like they are all special. Disgusting.

Maybe they'll think it's the mid 70s again and cancel bear season this fall? Said it plenty of times over the past ten years, say it again: PA has too damn many bears and has for some time. Bears have been "invading" long-populated areas around here, going back at least 15 years. Yet I still see people yappin' about having bear problems, because people build houses in bear territory. Last time I checked, Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg and Linglestown ain't "bear territory". They are all areas populated by people (lots of people) for over 200 years. Yet bears show up in such areas frequently, generally in the spring when young males start to roam about. banghead
