Starting Jan. 24, Electronics Required To Be Recycledwww.yorkdispatch.com/localnews/ci_22296450/starting-jan-24-you-cant-leave-old-electronicsThe state's Department of Environmental Protection is reminding consumers that, come Jan. 24, it will be illegal to dispose of covered devices such as computers, laptops, monitors and televisions, in the trash. Cellphones are excluded, but trash haulers will no longer be able to take covered devices, which contain heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and mercury and other materials that shouldn't mix with the curbside trash stream, according to the DEP.

Received notice in yesterday's twp. newsletter, that we will have to make our own arrangements to dispose of electronics, since they did not establish any program to deal with it, like many other municipalities have done.
The only thing they offered, is that such items can no longer be set out for the trash trucks.
I've noticed in the past, that any TVs or computer items set out, always disappear before the trash truck showed up. Same for anything containing aluminum (old lawn chairs) or other valuable metals like copper, etc.
