The government has no place in private enterprise.

Should government stay out of the parks, campgrounds, national forests, ect. business too, BJ? I think access for all to these places is one of the great things about this country.
I think they need to get out of the booze bidnis too.

They should get out of the campground business. Our state parks are a treasure, many of them, but wholesale commercialization, like a golf course, is nonsense. Campgrounds keep government jobs in an area.

Just keep firmly in mind where the money to pay for government jobs comes from, Dutch. Good liberals look at more government jobs as being the cure for unemployment.

A family being able to vacation in a public campground is one of the great things about America. Visit a camp ground and watch the kids play in the streams, woods, ride their bikes, and see how many are having so much fun in our outdoors. Getting these kids into camping and the outdoors in general is at least as important as mentored youth hunting and the overstocking a trout stream for a youth fishing contest.
The private businesses in many small communities survive because the public parks and campgrounds bring people into the area. It's a fact even if it does not fit the knee-jerk response of the anti government group thinkers who have been trained to respond to all action of the government negatively. It should not be too hard for those of us who see the money hunters and fishermen bring to some areas of the state to see the indirect benefits of such things- financial and otherwise.

It appears a similar bill was voted down yesterday.
Disturbing that pretty much all Lancaster Count Reps voted in favor of public/private "partnerships".....

If the government had stayed out of private business, there would be no parks or recreation areas. I agree that the public campgrounds are one of the great national treasures. The experiences for introduction to the outdoors are unequaled. On the other hand if golfing opportunities were limited, I could understand the need. It seems to me, this is just an investor buddy looking for a cheap land concession. " Perhaps we should be clamoring for more shooting ranges on public property.
