At least for me it is nice to get away from such things as politics, CWD or PGC regulations that we want to change, long enough to view some wildlife that brightens my day. So here are a few: Indigo Bunting in our fire cherry tree this morning: Myrtle warbler - yellow rumped on the feeder: Male cardinal this morning: Bluebirds a few days ago and again today with the tree partially leafed out: Goldfinch: Four of the five male grosbeaks that are hanging around here: Male hummingbirds: And a not-so-great picture of a male scarlet tanager:

No matter how many times you've seen it, it's always a bit exciting to see the migrants back in the spring.

A bear pulled down our oriole feeder last night and I chased him off the porch. We had been bringing the feeder in at night but simply got caught up in watching a movie last night until we heard the bear on the porch. I had to patch the feeder this morning. We felt pretty lucky to get a slew of pictures this morning of 3 male orioles. But then as I was processing them on the computer Kate handed me her camera and said 4 more males showed up and were waging war on the ones that were already here.
Wow!
