Woodcock Limited and Col-Momt Wild turkey folks are doing some habitat work as follows:
Just want to fill you in on our 8th annual Habitat Day. Our 8th Habitat Day will be held on Saturday March 12th on State Game Gands 325 near Muncy PA. We will meet along Hill Road just about 100 yards north of its intersection with Dimm Road at 9:00 AM. I am attaching Will Dingman's information concerning the nature of the work and other pertinent information. As has been our custom, we will be working with members of the Col-Mont Gobblers Chapter of the NWTF. We will start at 9:00 AM and work till lunch time. A hot meal will be served (hot dogs - soup - drinks - chips - potato & macaroni salad - chips). I promise all will enjoy the day. Help WL of PA in our quest to improve and create better habitat for not only woodcock but many species of wildlife as well. Bring appropriate work clothing and review Will's attached email for the nature of the work. Please respond to my email if you plan to attend so we can make appropriate lunch plans.

We will be at SGL 325 at 0900 on Hill Road just north of Dimm Road Muncy Pa.
100 yards north of the Dimm Road and Hill Road Intersection)
We will be releasing some chestnut trees, building brush piles and cutting invasive shrubs and vines. Bring any appropriate tools that you might have. The area is an old homestead over run by trumpet vine. Across the road is a woodcock project the food and cover crew worked on about five years ago. It needs a little attention as well. This SGL has deer and turkeys. However, I have seen grouse occasionally and woodcock are seen during migration. Turkeys are often on the SGL. It had been a woodcock / grouse hot spot 15 years ago. Hopefully the efforts over the next few years will start to replace that habitat. The Food and cover crew will have completed a cutting project before the volunteer habitat day.
PM me if you would like to help out.
