Was walking down a gas well road when Thicket goes on point. Walked in thinking grouse or maybe woodcock when a Ringneck rooster barrels out. Dropped both hammers and saw it fall and run off the road with Thicket in hot pursuit. Found her digging beneath a huge log and when I got down on my hands and knees I spied the rooster buried deep under the log. This is the first pheasant she's smelled but she knew what to do.

Those pheasants are tough birds. I shot one the other week and dropped it. It just laid there in the thick I was gonna finish it off without shooting it and then it took off. Guess I should have shot it again?

Very nice! Seems like she is really coming along. This is her 2nd season right? No. This is her first hunting season. She was born in June of 2014 which made her 4-5 months old last hunting season so I didn't hunt her until this year.
