WOW!!! I went out of Homer a number of years ago & caught a 75 & 40 pounder. Can't imagine pulling up one of dem 200 plus pounders!! I caught the tail end of the silver run in September on the Kenai River. It was also the Capt's last halibut trip for the season Brought back through the Anchorage ice cap 70 pounds of fillets. We ate fish every week for over a year!! What month were you in AK?

Hey.....there are no eyes on those fish. Are you sure they are not Russian robot type fish? I can see Russia from my space ship you know.

Agree fishing out of Homer can encounter some ruff seas. I was up 2nd week September and we were out 35 miles. Winds kicked up and seas swelled to 10-12 ft & Captain came back early with over half on board sea sick. We needed 2-30 oz weights to hold bottom that day. Will have to consider Petersburg if I ever get back to AK fishing. I stayed at the Lands End hotel out on the Homer spit.
