Who uses them? What kind? Opinions? Me personally I love them, when they work. I shot a buck a few years back with a lighted nock. Shot through the buck at 10 yards, Could not find the arrow. Gave up. Two days later a friend found the arrow lit up as he walked into the same stand in the predawn. Apparently it did not light up when I shot it, but came on later after I gave up and left. Appeared the battery last a couple days?

Never used them.Just one of those lines in the sand I said I'd never cross. Hmmm... never thought about it that way.. what line is it you think you are crossing? I am a die hard fair chase guy. But I never thought of a lighted nock as giving me any advantage other than helping to see where I hit an animal and find the arrow. ??

It's not an advantage so to speak. It's just a technological line that I don't see the need to cross or to pay 10 bucks a piece for.

Glenn.....I think Ridge here uses them.
I never tried them but can see them being a tremendous aide in helping recover a late day archery hit.

I encourage everybody to try them. Yes, they are expensive although the price has comedown a bit since first introduction. Like I said above I love them. It is really cool to be able to see where your arrow or bolt hits.

I love them. Great for finding your arrow and really helps me when hunting with the kids to see where it hits. Yes they are a little pricey, but so are the arrows and broadheads.

I have shot them all. I authored a pretty extensive article on lighted nocks for crossbows a few months ago. I would not be happy with any lighted nock that did not work 100% of the time or close to it. Of all of them, I like Firenocks, Lumenoks, and Clean Shot Nock Outs.

I think they would have helped me last year. If I play over my shot 100 times I would tell you I shot the thing back. Found the deer and It was a heart shot. Don't know what I was seeing.

Just for clarification,I have no issues with anyone else using them.I'm just content using the 3 white vanes that have always done what I needed and don't feel the need to blow any more money.I think in the last 15 years,I've only ever lost one arrow. On top of that, they weigh a fair amount and that can throw your foc off.I shoot a lot and like to practice year round with what I hunting with.

Disclaimer,I could see them being beneficial out of a fast crossbow.I didn't see the impact from either of the deer my son shot this year.

A friend of mine got shot with an arrow in the hip about 50 years ago. He was in full camo with a hip quiver and white Turkey feathers. He barely survived and never went hunting again. :/ the guy who shot him was stalking. :/

I could see it helping find an arrow after dark or in dim light. Much can be learned from the arrow. If it's lost, you lose the info.
Years ago I shot a doe with a crossbow. Never did find that bolt. She ran off a 100 yds and died. Was using expandables from a buddy's crossbow. Boy did she leave a blood trail!

I believe if you search the web there is information on how to make them. I just did a search and there are lots of instructional videos on how to make them.

To me,they're just something I don't want to use but there is value in them. When my son was using a crossbow,I started to put them on his bolts because he couldn't tell me where the bolt impacted a couple of times.Last year I started putting them on his arrows with his compound for the same reason. On saturday,he was in a tree about 40 yards in front of me.I couldn't see him but could talk to him if I had to.I had no idea but some deer were working towards him.Hisd bow is real quiet but I heard him shoot and saw this yellow streak in front of me through the fog.It was pretty cool and helpful when we went to recover the deer.Right at dark my neighbor hit a big 6 point behind my house with a crossbow. He didn't see the impact, went right after the deer and pushed it way too fast.Had he seen the impact, maybe he would have waited.I use three white vanes on my arrows and always see the impact. If I used a crossbow,I'd use lighted nocks.

By the way,my neighbor liver shot that buck with a rage.He pushed it too fast and didn't recover it.Bigger doesn't mean squat with broadheads. His brother killed a small 8 point about 5 minutes earlier with a rocket sidewinder and hit it perfect.I helped them tarck it and it went every bit of 100 yards.
