Thirty, yes 30 degrees and a light frost this morning, got the deer moving like crazy and they are still moving at 10:30 a.m.!!! The buck below is becoming a regular. He hit the apple tree this morning and hung around for 20 minutes scraping and making rubs all over the place. With his narrow rack he looks like a young buck, but check out the bottom picture to see how big he is ....this guy is a hog. These are perfect fall mornings with colors at about peak and bucks moving.

That's a nice buck. Antler width is really a useless measurement. I wish B&C would do away with it. I agree with the Buckmasters total score method that does not include dead "air" space between the antlers. Here's a pick of one I killed a couple years back that is very narrow but still has about 170 inches of bone. If he had any width he would be a whopper! Attachment DeletedHere's another that was 23.5 inches wide inside that only scores in the mid 120's. By the way, the 170 buck was 5.5 years old. The wide buck was 2.5.

Lots of people share your view Glenn, but I like the "typical" representation scoring as long as there is also recognition for non typical. This is a case where we can have both recognized. I saw a buck, (rack), in Saskatchewan that measured somewhere north of 180 with a .....14 inch spread! One isn't better than the other.....unless their head grows sideways!
