After one of the busiest summers for me that I have ever had with getting married, moving into an apartment in another town an hour away while my house sold and buying a house at the same time then moving out of the apartment we are finally into the new home. Still tons to move, lots of projects and so on but we are in. I haven't had my dog Pointer Rosco w/ me because of the apartment and we were so looking forward to him moving in w/ us. I was so excited to get him into all the new covers that I want to look at also.
A few weeks ago some may have seen in another thread that he had a tumor that was removed that was highly cancerous. This type doesn't have a good outcome for him but it is super rare case that it was on the skin and they don't know of any cases like that so we really don't know what the future holds. The wife and I decided that moving him up w/ us full time might not be the best idea right now till we find more out about it. I have a 7 yr old step son and getting him overly attached to Rosco and in a few months if it goes down hill might not be great idea. He is at my parents house and he is having a blast because they are both retired and it gives him lots to do during the day. So we are going to wait a bit and I'll bring him up on weekends and take him hunting as much as i can. Even though I have TONS to do I told the wife he is going to hunt a lot and if he's sick and can't hunt long that's okay but he is going to get out as much as possible this fall.
That all being said my dad brought him up the other day while we were doing some painting and he seems to love the new place. Big windows to look out and see animals, lots of trees to pee on and lots of new smells. I'm gonna get his pen set up outside for him to hang out in when he comes up and we are hoping its for a lot longer than we think. So here's to getting there, in the new house, new hunting season, new challenges and new hope. Enjoy the season everyone, I know I will
