I rarely pimp a product but this is one I have to.I actually feel naked in the woods without a good pair of glass.I glass constantly during archery season and rifle season.I primarily still hunt during rifle season and properly glassing is a huge part of my success.I can't even begin to count how many deer I've killed or at least not spooked because I glassed them before they saw me.Carrying binoculars was always a pain.Just using a neck strap hurts your neck after a while and they flop all over the place. For years I just used an elastic binocular harness but they stretch over time and they offer no protection from the elements.Recently I picked up an Alaskan guide harness. It's a soft pouch that protects your glass and allows you to easily slip them in and out of.What I like about it is,the straps are not elastic so they never stretch. You can pull it tight to your chest and adjust it high enough so it's out of your way.It also has several other small compartments on it so you can carry other small items like a GPS,shells, cell phone, rangefinder or puff bottle. It's not cheap at around $89 but it's worth every penny in my experience.

Anyway, I use the elastic bino straps, and like you say, they eventually stretch out. The also offer no lens protection.

About 6 or 7 years ago, I bought a similar bino pack from Badlands Packs. I use it constantly. One difference from the Alaska Guide Pack is that the front of the pack pulls down with a hinged bottom and closes with a very secure magnetic closure. It's very fast to open and sits on your chest similar to a chest fly box used by fly fishermen.
A couple of years after I bought it, I was looking for a pack to load a few muzzleloading items in for a hunt in a woodlot that had a very dense thicket. I decided to multi-purpose the pack for that and it worked like a charm. Everything I needed for the hunt was conveniently located on my chest.
