Another fine rifle from the Mutt's inventory. I have too many rifles for a guy 73 years old and need to reduce inventory. Since I have two rifles in .300 Weatherby Magnum, I really have no need for this one, and it is not being used. It is looking for a good home. It is a Browning A-bolt stainless steel in .300 Winchester short magnum with the boss system, and it comes with some extras as listed below. If you are looking for an all-weather outfit sufficient for larger game such as bear, elk, or moose, this should do the job. 1. An extra boss with the muzzle brake holes. The solid one is atached to the barrel as shown in the photos. 2. A set of RCBS dies, complete with the shell holder. 3. Some ammunition to get you started, including a partial box of factory loads. Some are 150 grain, but most 180 grain. 4. Sling. 5. Leupold Rifleman 3-9X scope. I am asking $800, but will consider reasonable offers. You can check this one out and you will find that the price I am asking is reasonable, especially considering the added extras. Obviously since I want to reduce my inventory, no trades will be considered.

Mutt, I might have bought this rifle from you until you made the comment about the old man having too many guns and needing to reduce inventory! I guess I have enough now to make my Son and Grandsons happy.

I was thinking about it.....but then I kept looking at that first photo and kept asking myself...."How can I possibly shoot that rifle when I half to lye upside down to do it?" fighting0092 Nice rifle Mutt!! I have a tiny bit of space left in the safe, but I have my bear rifle. But iffin I didn't that would be a very nice addition to anyone's collection. A great caliber, a fine gun maker, and your price seems very fair.

What? You can't shoot in the inverted position, Dave? ? In case anyone wonders why I don't answer any questions later on today, the W 1 FE unit states for the record that we ARE going to the lake today. I should be back sometime this evening. That gives yinz a whole day to consider what a great deal this is.

Mutt, I shot a deer one time in the inverted position. The deer jumped up really hight and did a flip...landed on it's back and rolled over at least three times and then was DRT. However when I got myself into an upright position, the deer was actually....well....sort of in an upright position as well. It's legs were stuck in some mud. Still DRT yet...some how not lying down dead. No tongue hanging out.....eyes were closed. It was all very confusing to me. Plus....it was very difficult to field dress that way. I had to go in thru the ribs.....First time I ever field dressed using a John Deer chain saw.
Well, as you can probably tell, shooting from the inverted position just isn't my cup of tea. But then, I did read a reloading article about loading the bullets in backwards. Perhaps that would change everything.......I mean as long as I didn't shoot the deer with those backward loaded bullets while I was in a "normal" position.
You see? *thumbsup*

I bought one of the first stainless stalkers (300wsm) that Grice gun shop got in in 2000.Mine didn't have the boss but recoil wasn't obnoxious and it shot very well.I sold it to my buddy because I just had to have a Kimber Montanna in 300 wsm.You can find a lot of negative feedback on the caliber but if I was forced to only have one rifle for everything I'll ever hunt, the 300 wsm would be the one.65 gr of H4350 and a 180gr accubond shot well in both rifles and flattens everything it hits.George is offering that at a very fair price. If it's a proven killer, you should probably give him a few more bucks. That's always worth something.

I was thinking of offering George $750 plus $50 for the dies and stuff... I wonder if he will take it?

If Glenn would offer me $775 plus $25 for the dies and stuff I will consider the rifle sold to Glenn, pending his visit. I don't think he will be sorry he bought it. Thanks to those who expressed interest.

Glenn.....Mutt's counter offer seems like a much better deal. I mean...you just can't get dies for that price anywhere!!!

Hi there. This is a crazy Longshoto, but you sold the exact rifle I have been looking for for a while. The browning 300wsm with the boss. Would you possibly consider dropping a line to the guy who bought it and see if he might be interested in selling it. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks and God bless
