Are those all legal size? Did you measure every one of them? Then again, they don't even look fit to eat! At least that's what I'm telling myself as I sit here!

LOL Dan!! Yup...all crabs brought onboard my vessel are duly measured conforming to VA Marine Resources Commissions Regulations!! The Jimmies are averaging 6" plus & Sooks are all over 6". The crabs this season are unbelievably heavy & FULL of scrumptious meat!!

We caught a bunch of crabs over the weekend right off our dock in OC, NJ. Crabs seem bigger this year. I made seafood breakfast wraps on Sunday; cheddar cheese, sauteed red onion & egg omelet, covered with fresh crab meat (cooked the night before) and pan-seared shrimp (sliced) with a generous amount of old bay...delicious. Later in the day we made seafood hoagies; On a hard crust hoagie roll we used the remaining crab meat, shrimp, scallops, calamari, Jersey tomato, and lettuce, with Virginia Brand Vidalia Onion Vinaigrette Salad Dressing drizzled on top...killer.

Wish I had time to make a trip to visit Loggy. Looks like good eatin'. Mutt...give me a holler if you ever get down to the Chincoteague VA area. I promise you will eat well!! Just got bak from a 2 weeker. Saw the Annual Pony swim along with all the related festivities. Friend's visiting us bought me a small 10 cu ft chest freezer for my shed to store bait and all that "good stuff" the Mrs doesn't like in her freezer. Fishing/crabbing has been great!! Once i get through the mail etc and pack up some fresh undyware will be bak at it in a week or 2.

Seein' how they say shellfish is bad for cholesterol, you should probably start distributing those crabs about, and not try to eat them all yourself ?

Seein' how they say shellfish is bad for cholesterol, you should probably start distributing those crabs about, and not try to eat them all yourself ? Whut i used to think too Fleroo but after numerous medical studies NOT...................... Studies have shown that diets high in shellfish can actually lower harmful forms of cholesterol in the bloodstream.
Eighteen men were divided into two groups. After evaluating their normal diet for seven days, each was given three different shellfish diets for the next 21 days. Oyster, clam, crab, and mussel diets lowered triglycerides, as well as the so-called "bad" forms of cholesterol (LDL and VLDL). Even more surprisingly, oyster, mussel, and squid diets actually increased the beneficial form of cholesterol (HDL).

Being of the age of 73, I no longer pay much attention to the health crisis of the day. I eat what I want, when I want it, and try not to miss a day with ice cream. Those reporters and food police have to have something about which to write. Life is a terminal condition and I'm gonna die of something. Might 'swell enjoy the trip.
