Hmmm...what's this? So my wife (hearing her day where is the trigger assembly group put a smile on my face) and I inventoried the kit last night and all parts are there...despite Traditions garbage packing...Midway USA did a great job though in shipping it fast and securely. So hats off to them. Also Ground is 3 days to my house which is nice. The only problem is a part of the stock looks like too much wood may have been removed, but I'm not sure. It's where the lock would fit in, but it's not a perfect circle, part of the right edge is a little chipped, it's hard to explain in text, so I'll post pics later. Does anyone have any suggestions on potential stock colors, preferably made by Mini wax? I'm hoping to have it setup for the Deer Season Opener. It's a bit optimistic, but I'm hoping I might get it done by then. Still a little unsure on how to do it, so I'm sure I'll be pestering people here with questions.

Hey, that's cool! That's a fun project. And, I love seeing that Midway USA box...
As far as stock colors, I wonder what "color" they were back in the day? What did they historically use to protect the stocks back then, and is that why they were the color they were?

Hey, that's cool! That's a fun project. And, I love seeing that Midway USA box... Yeah, never seen one of there boxes before. Since I had to pick it up from my apartment buildings rental office (where all packages go), I'm kind of happy no one googled it. Not that anything prohibits it in my lease, but why broadcast it? They were nice though thinking it was heavy (it wasn't) and even asking if I needed a handcart ( I didn't) so no complaints. Not sure, I tried to get my wife to do free research for me (she worked as reference librarian in College), but she asked how much I was going to pay her. lol

Well it's actually going back. I just felt that I currently lack the free time and skill to get it done and I'd rather put my limited time (currently doing a 6 hr round trip daily commute) into getting the Rem 870 ready for deer and bear season...well and the normal household things and of course spending time with my family.

Sounds like a wise decision. Even if you could quickly complete kit...to get a smoker doing whut it should has a lil lead time involved.
