Just got a text last night that my deer mount was done and needs to dry for two weeks. I think he did a heck of a good job. Has some rub marks that I couldn't really help since I drug him a long way. I really like the color of this bucks face. Seems like it's more whiter/grey then brown.

I was reading your post. But the first think I thought of when I looked at the picture was.....darn....that deer has so much grey even he makes me look young!!! HA!! Nice buck there Stroupy!! I'll bet you didn't have to do any "horn counting" when this guy came through!!!

When I called my brother I said all I saw were horns coming through the brush! My concentration was on killing that buck though and didn't truly know he was as big until I got up to him. 15 seasons and never shot a buck, I can tell you the pressure was on me! Now it feels good to finally get one under my belt and have that off of my shoulders!

Very nice Stroup. That deer is obviously the gray sub-species rather than the brown sub-species more prevalent prior to HR.The gray species is much harder to find and hunt so you did good.If you want to know the difference, just look up the USP's testimony. They can explain it in detail.

Great looking buck Bryan! Taxidermist did a fine job mounting him. Congrats! Let's hope you don't have to wait another fifteen years to bust another one.
