Alaska is a fantastic place, and the fishing is second to none, it will ruin even a good man. the biggest down fall being any fish you eat after leaving Alaska will fail in comparison, fresh sockeye on a grill is second to nothing you have ever tasted and after a platter or two of halibut bits and a pitcher of beer and you will never look at a chicken wing the same.
There's a lot to do and see in the state, and I am not in any way endorsing this place, as I have had no dealings with them, I'm just saying Alaska is a great destination.

Bawanajim, Your 100% correct. i can't eat fried fish anymore!!! The closest thing is fresh Walleye and Pearch. Eating fresh fish caught minutes before prepared is second to none. There's nothing like an Appetizers of Dungeness Crab and fresh Tide water clams either!!! i usually bring back 150-200 lbs of halibut each year. plus Salmon and Shrimp. you can't believe what i'ev traded others for with such sweet white Gold.

Looks like a great trip there Mike!!
I only ever did one trip to AK. I went early Sept and caught the tail end of the silver salmon run on the Kenai River & did a hailbut charter out of Homer. Brought back 70 lbs of fillets from my 2 silvers plus a 75 & 45 pound halibut. Would love to go back but would go earlier in the season as the weather was already starting to get a lil ruff.

One great thing about the Wrangell Narrows area is calm waters..It is part of the inside passage.( NO Cruise Ships) We have five rivers within 10-20 minutes of the lodge for freshwater Fishing, Great Silver run and Reds. the lakes are full of CutThroat Trout and Steel head. There's also a Dusky Rock Fish area on the Sound thats easy to limit out each day!!! So far for this season the state will allow 2- kings over 28" and 1- Under28" each day. Thats unheard anywhere!! probably due to a Terminal Fishery areas close by.
